![]() ![]() You do have to overwrite the DMYDATA file, if you're using Swap Magic. ![]() I simply rebuilt the game with Nero and IsoBuster. Anybody who has tried to get this game working without any luck, feel free to try my method. I need some guinea pigs with Swap Magic lol. I rebuilt and it plays perfectly on my modded PS2. This isn't a definite fix for this game, because I haven't tested it with Swap Magic. I can't get my backup of Dragon Quest VIII to work with Swap Magic, how can I get it working correctly?Ī. It was only when I switched to Verbatim 8x DVD-R, that it worked.ĩ4. I was using DVD+R originally, 16x Verbatims. I'm definetly NOT sure why yours isn't working but hopefully this helps.Īll of these steps mean nothing if you're using the wrong media for YOUR VERSION OF THE PS2. and this time seems to work like a charm. I burned this new compilation at 2x, it took forever but it worked. I looked from my ISOBuster list for the order of files on the ISO, and i dragged them into Nero in that order (they go out of order, but apparently the order you dragged them in is the only important thing).ģ. I opened NERO Burning ROM (Nero 6 Ultra) and chose UDF/ISO option from the "Create DVD" Screen. and then in that list i selected everything and just dragged it over to a new folder i made for this purpose).Ģ. I used ISOBuster and extracted my NEW ISO FILE that was made with Gnies rebuilder (I just opened ISOBuster, chose that NEW-DRAGONQUEST.ISO file. haha so these are the FURTHER steps I took to make the disc I'm currently playing on, which seems perfect.ġ. but it froze at a certain point in the game, I was unable to enter an area so I had to REDO this. Burned at 2x (DVD Decrypter) on a 8x DVD-R and it workedīUT TAKE NOTE!!! That burn worked fine. THEN i went back into Gnie's tool and Rebuild File, then Rebuild LBA. In my case, there was still a "New text document" left in the folder so i deleted that. Inside that folder I replaced the dummy file by first creating a text document with 1 space, chose to "Save As" then selected the DMYDATA and overwrote it. After that was done, I minimized the rebuilding tool and i went into the folder where my original ISO was, i then selected the new file that was created from "Extracting File". In Gnie's rebuilding tool, I opened the program, chose the plugin, then selected my original ISO file, First I chose to Extract LBA then Extract file. Then open the text document on the desktop, hit space once, then save, this will create a text document with 1 byte in it, Do this for all the dummy files you have, as some games have more than one. So on the desktop, right click the mouse, select "new" > text document and rename it as it appears in isobuster, then click enter. GARBAGE ETC, you need to get rid of them, by replacing them with a file. From Hursty: When you see the iso has dummy files.i.e 00DUMMY. I'm rebuilding game X, I'm concerned it has dummy files. Keep in mind im backing up the PAL version, but if your having trouble backing up with NTSC then i dont see a problem trying.Ĥ9. It is very easy to do so even the noobies should be able to do it. This worked for me when every other way failed. select Shrinker_ps2_psp_CdDvd5_iso.epi on the plugins list. ![]() Gnie's PS2 Auto Rebuilder Tool Download (Thanks to 3DLuis):ĭownload it and then follow these instrcutions and it will work.ġ. With Expert (Gnie's new rebuilding tool): With Nero and Isobuster (works as long as no single file is over 2 GB's): There are several Swap Magic users who have gotten this game to work.Ī. I should add I have a modchip, so I don't need to rebuild this game. You need to overwrite this file if you're rebuilding the game to play it with Swap Magic. Did you overwrite the dummy file? There is a 50 MB dummy file called dummydata in the root directory iso. ![]()
